SHANBALLY STICKER(1)

The final game of the Shanbally School Conker Tournament took place on the day of the Christmas holidays and, after a hotly-contested game between Jaden in 6th Class and  Dylan in 4th Class, Jaden was the declared the overall winner for the second year in a row!! This is a great achievement, and the fact that Jaden has used the same conker for all his games over the two years is absolutely amazing! This conker must be one of the most valuable conkers in Co. Cork, if not in the whole of Ireland!!  Congratulations also to Dylan who came 2nd overall and to Cian and Freya (both 5th Class) who came 3rd and 4th in the Tournament.

Well done to  all the pupils from 4th, 5th and 6th Class who took part in this year’s competition.  We hope you enjoyed playing Conkers,  a game which has been played in many school playgrounds throughout Ireland and England for over a hundred years or more. You have helped keep that tradition alive for at least  another year!!
